1. General policies
Café Historia 1492 is exported from Costa Rica to the rest of the world. In the USA, Café Historia 1492 has a logistics center in Miami, Florida, while in Europe this office is located in Modena, Italy.
Café Historia 1492 offers standard shipping (in 7 business days) and 3rd day shipping (in 3 business days).

2. Shipping conditions

Order placement: Orders placed after 11am (Costa Rican time) either with stardard or 3rd day shipping, will be processed on the next day. Orders placed on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays after 11am will be shipped on the next Monday, except if it is a holiday, in which case the package will be shipped on the next Tuesday or business day.

Orders with a future shipment date: These will be shipped on the date specified by the client at the time of purchase, with the exception of Saturdays or Sundays, in which case the order will ship the following Monday or business day. The order will be charged on the shipping date.

Delays: International shippings may be delayed due to customs clearance processes, which are not within our control. For example, USA authorities randomly select packages for further inspection, causing a delay of several business days on their delivery. If this or other problem came up with your package, we will contact you to let you know.

Order follow-up: Café Historia 1492 will e-mail you to notify you of your order status.

Additional charges: Outside continental USA, packages may be subject to import duties or customs fees of the country they have as a final destination. These additional charges can not be predicted by Café Historia 1492, and thus they are responsibility of the recipient of the package.

Sending coffee as a gift: If you purchase our coffee to send it as a gift, the package will be marked “Gift”; however, to comply with the customs authorities, the value of the item will still have to be stated on the customs form.

Signature for deliveries: At the time the courier company delivers your package, they will require your signature in order to leave a record of their service. If you or the person receiving your order chooses not to sign, we will not be liable or responsible if your package is incomplete or damaged, if it is wrong or if it gets lost.
3. Cancellations
Once shipped, the order is no longer in our hands, but in the courier company´s. Thus, if you wish to cancell your order, you can do so just as long as it has not been shipped.
If you cancell your order, the credit will appear on your next credit card statement (not in the present one).
4. Product returns
Due to Costa Rica´s laws and regulations, unfortunately we can not receive product returns or make exchanges.
